Don Szegda holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Health, Physical Education and General Science from Gettysburg College, A Masters Degree in Special Education from Temple University, a Masters Degree in School Administration from Villanova University, a Masters Equivalent Degree in School Administration from Lehigh University and a Supervisors Certificate from Penn State University. He also holds certificates as a Regular and Special Education Teacher, an Elementary Principal, a Supervisor of Special Education and a School Superintendent.
For the past six years Don served as President and Chief Executive Officer at Community Interactions, Inc. located in Swarthmore, Pennsylvania. He began his tenure there in 2005 as a Senior Program Director, then Clinical Director before being promoted to President and CEO. Community Interactions provides quality services for people with intellectual, physical or behavioral health challenges, helping to create lifestyles consistent with their communities.
In addition, he is credentialed as an Early Intervention Developmental Therapist and is a member of the Delacato International Rehabilitation Team, providing services to children and their families.
An accomplished speaker, Don has made presentations to several state organizations representing services for children and adults with special needs. Among the presentations have been several school districts, The PA Autism Association, Illinois TASH (The Association for Severely Handicapped), and Dungarvin. Additionally, he has presented a series of lectures in Helinski, Finland and Germany.
During the past 15 years Don has conducted numerous sensory motor assessments and has developed several intervention programs for individuals on the autism spectrum. These services have been provided both locally and internationally. He is currently a member of two teams providing services to individuals in Helinski, Finland and Bonn, Germany.
